‘Dark Knight’ grabs cinematography nomination

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Batman is angling for top honors from the American
Society of Cinematographers.


Wally Pfister, cinematographer on the Batman blockbuster “The Dark Knight,”
is among contenders for the society’s prize at its Feb. 15 awards ceremony in
Los Angeles.


The nominations, announced Wednesday, include two for Roger Deakins, for the
domestic story “Revolutionary Road” and the Holocaust drama “The Reader.”
Deakins shares “The Reader” nomination with Chris Menges.


Also nominated are Anthony Dod Mantle for “Slumdog Millionaire” and Claudio
Miranda for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
