Hansbrough to miss Kentucky game
CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker)—Top-ranked North Carolina again will be without All-American Tyler Hansbrough when it faces Kentucky on Tuesday.
Tar Heels coach Roy Williams said during a Monday news conference that Hansbrough still isn’t fully recovered from a stress reaction in his right shin.
The consensus National Player of the Year last season, Hansbrough also missed Saturday’s 86-71 victory over Pennsylvania.
It’s uncertain if Hansbrough will play Friday at UC Santa Barbara or in next week’s Maui Invitational.
A three-time All-American, Hansbrough averaged 22.6 points and 10.2 rebounds last season in leading North Carolina to the Final Four. He had played in 108 straight games before missing the first game of his career against Penn.
