Quarterly Report
1ST QUARTER - Packers 7, Bears 0
Bad start: Packers RB Ryan Grant gains six, 35 and five yards on the first three plays from scrimmage for a first down at Bears’ 40. The Packers, 23rd in the NFL in rushing yards per game, already have 47 percent of their 98-yard rushing average after three plays.
And furthermore… : The Bears, fourth in the NFL in rush defense, have given up 61 percent of their average of 75 yards allowed.
A little help: On third-and-three from the Bears’ 28, guard Jason Spitz is called for a false start, and the Packers punt after Brian Urlacher stops Donald Lee short on a third-and-eight pass play.
Short-circuited: After Rashied Davis is called for holding, Kyle Orton hits TE Greg Olsen for 18 yards on third-and-one for a first down at the Bears’ 31. But Devin Hester is called for pass interference, and the Bears punt.
Rodgers time: Pack QB Aaron Rodgers hits Donald Driver for 16, 14 and nine yards and Jordy Nelson for 19 to set up a three-yard TD pass to Greg Jennings for 7-0 lead.
The unhappy totals: The Packers gain 122 yards on 12 plays in the quarter (10.1 per play).
KEY PLAYER
Ryan Grant, Packers RB: Set the tone with a 35-yard run on the second play of the game. His longest rush in the last eight games had been 14 yards. Grant gained 58 yards on six carries in the quarter.

2ND QUARTER - Packers 17, Bears 3
Good call: Kyle Orton changes the call at the line and beats a Packers blitz by floating a pass to Matt Forte, who breaks a tackle for an 18-yard gain to the GB 21.
Coming up short: After Orton’s pass on third-and-six is knocked down by DT Johnny Jolly, Robbie Gould kicks a 35-yard FG to cut the deficit to 7-3.
Big hit: Grant is knocked out of the game on a big hit by Mike Brown. But his replacement, Brandon Jackson, gains seven, seven and six yards on his first three carries.
Playmaker: Brian Urlacher intercepts Rodgers at the Packers’ 10. It’s his first pick of the season.
Stuffed: The Bears kill the momentum from Urlacher’s big play as Matt Forte is stopped for no gain on third-and-one.
Can’t stop him: Grant returns and goes around left end for 18 yards to the Bears’ 4, then scores on the next play, pushing defenders into the end zone for a 14-3 lead.
Mismanaged: Inside their 10, the Bears give the Packers another chance when Orton’s incompletion stops the clock with 58 seconds left.
The payoff: The Packers get the ball at the Bears’ 40, and Mason Crosby booms a 53-yard FG to give Green Bay a 17-3 lead.
KEY PLAYER
Ryan Grant, Packers RB: Rushed for 103 yards on 13 carries to lead an offense that already has 238 yards on 33 plays (7.2 yards per play) — 138 rushing on 19 carries and 100 passing.

3RD QUARTER - Packers 24, Bears 3
Jinxed: The Bears can’t get out of their own way. Hester returns the second-half kickoff 48 yards to the Packers’ 47 — his second- longest return of the season. But Hunter Hillenmeyer is called for a ticky-tack illegal block in the back, bringing the ball back to the Bears’ 26.
Slip is showing: Hester fields a punt at the Bears’ 13, slips and falls for a seven-yard return.
And down goes Orton: Packers CB Charles Woodson is untouched on a blitz and sacks Orton for an eight-yard loss.
Recovery: On second-and-18, Orton hits Olsen for 10 yards, and a facemask penalty on Al Harris gives the Bears a first down at their own 37.
Torched: Rodgers throws a 29-yard pass to Jennings and a 21-yarder to Driver before Grant gains 22 yards to the Bears’ 1.
Goal-line stand: Tommie Harris and Alex Brown stuff Grant for a four-yard loss on first-and-goal.
Paydirt: Rodgers uses play-action for an easy five-yard TD to Lee.
KEY PLAYER
Kyle Orton, Bears QB: Bears’ unwillingness to run the ball and the effects of his injury taking a toll. Orton was 5-for-12 for 42 yards in the quarter and is 10-for-22 for 97 yards for the game — and even Fox’s Joe Buck is contemplating a change to Rex Grossman for the sake of Orton’s health.

4TH QUARTER - Packers 37, Bears 3
It’s not just us: Even nice-guy Troy Aikman is on the Bears’ case: ”Last year [their] defense wasn’t very good — 28th in the league. The year prior to Bob Babich taking over as coordinator they were fifth in the league, and that carried them to the Super Bowl without much offense. I don’t know what it is, but I do think that Ron Rivera did not get enough credit for the job he did.”
Had enough: After Crosby’s 33-yard FG gives the Packers a 27-3 lead, Danieal Manning, in place of Hester, returns the ensuing kickoff 18 yards to the 30.
Too little… : Rashied Davis takes a short pass, makes a couple of nice moves in the open field and gains 36 yards to the Packers’ 37.
Pouring it on: After a Nick Collins pick and 41-yard return is nullified by a penalty, DE Jason Hunter returns an Orton fumble 54 yards for a TD, the Packers’ seventh defensive TD in 2008.
Turn out the lights: With the Bears down 34-3, Grossman replaces Orton, and
That kind of day: Peterson’s 21-yard gain on his first carry is nullified by a holding penalty on John Tait — his first holding call of the season.
KEY PLAYER
Jason Hunter, Packers DE: His 54-yard touchdown return of a Kyle Orton fumble put the finishing touch on a miserable game for the Bears, who were outgained 427-234, outrushed 200-83 and lost in time of possession 37:28-22:32.
