Stajan, Grabovski score in third period to lead Maple Leafs over Kings

LOS ANGELES - Matt Stajan and Mikhail Grabovski scored power-play goals less than 1 1/2 minutes apart early in the third period and Vesa Toskala made 32 saves, leading the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.

Alexander Frolov scored for Los Angeles on the first shot of the game, but the Kings fell apart after staggered tripping penalties to Sean O’Donnell and captain Dustin Brown.

Stajan tied the score with 17:51 to play during a goalmouth scramble while goaltender Jason LaBarbera was caught flatfooted and off-balance in the crease. The goal came with three seconds left on a two-man advantage.

Grabovski got the go-ahead goal on a perfect centring pass from John Mitchell with 29 seconds left on Brown’s penalty.

Jeff Finger added an empty-net goal for the Leafs.
